Gizmochinar Report AutoX has reportedly announced a new system for driverless vehicles at an event. Jiangsion Xiao, CEO and founder of the company, said the new system is better than its competitors’ existing platforms and brings more powerful hardware than ever before. It is specifically designed to provide safe seamless navigation in China’s complex urban driving architecture. The report states that the AutoX Zen5 system is the first system to support fully driverless robot taxis on China’s highways. It is known that its production has started in the country.
Speaking of its features, the system comes with a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) equipped with 50 sensors and 2200 TOPS computing power. It is equipped with 26 cameras and comes with six high-resolution leaders and 4D radar, covering the entire 360 degrees around the car with a 0.9-degree resolution. Thanks to these leader and camera systems, the system ensures that there are no blind spots for the car. Combined with all these sensor systems, the robot taxis are able to navigate China’s complex road system safely, the event said.
