Data leaks from this online learning app, data on nearly 22 million users at risk

The database of Unakademi, a popular online learning platform in India, was hacked in January, putting the data of about 22 million users at risk. According to US-based cybersecurity firm Sybil, a hacker has started selling on the Dark Web for $ 2,000 (approximately 1, 1,51,800), avoiding the Anacademi user database to get information about users. This database contains information about first and last user names, account usernames, hash passwords and email ids. Ancademi confirmed the breach in a statement, although it said it contained data on only 11 million users.

Bilping computers Report According to Siebel, May 3 created the Uncademi database for purchases on the Dark Web Search Of. This database contains a total of 2,19,09,707 user records. These records include not only the user’s username and email address information, but also the SHA-256 hash password, the user’s first and last name, and whether the account is active.

It was further informed that the last user account in this database has been created since 26th January. It shows that the hacker stole this database from the system of UNECADME in January.

In addition to regular user information, Siebel also confirmed that the database contains account information using corporate email IDs. Email IDs are reportedly owned by several other companies, including Cognizant, Google, Infosys and Wipro, and even Unacademi’s investment firm Facebook. One big fear is that if an affected user uses the same password in their workplace that they used to sign in to this app, the hacker could also gain access to their professional account.

Hemak Singh, co-founder and CTO of Unacademi, admitted in a statement to Gadgets 360 that the information was infringed. However, he said that according to an internal investigation, only 11 million (1,10,00,000) users were affected, not about 22 million users of Sybal.

If you are also an Uncadami user, take these steps immediately

If you also use the Uncademie platform, change your password immediately. If you use the same password for all your online accounts, you’ll need to change the passwords for other sites as well. In addition to these, you should also be wary of phishing emails.
