Under the Delhi government’s new Excise Rules, 2021, L-13 licensees will be able to make home delivery of liquor from today. The government has said that L-13 licensees will only place orders received through a specially designed mobile app or online web portal. Home delivery of liquor was allowed by the Delhi government on June 1. For this, the excise rules governing the liquor business were amended.
Home delivery of liquor has been started in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Orissa and Jharkhand by changing the rules before Delhi. In fact, the reason behind this decision is to reduce the crowd in liquor stores during the epidemic. For this too, hearings have been held in the high courts of the states.
As we have mentioned, the government has clarified a few things here, such as orders received through mobile apps designed for distribution and web portals will only be delivered to the house. Also, not all liquor stores in the state are allowed to supply liquor, but only to L-13 licensees.
