New features have been added to the MI Health app, which will tell the heart rate with the help of the phone’s camera

The MI Health app has now received a new update that supports heart rate monitoring. The update comes with version 2.7.4 and is expected to reach all M Health app users in the coming days. The MI Health app was launched last year and was only available to a select few MIUI users. At this time, the app had some fitness tracking features along with sleep monitoring and monthly cycle tracking but no heart rate monitoring. This special feature has now been added to the new update.

By XDA developers Report The MI Health application is supported by heart rate monitoring. This feature will use the phone camera to measure heart rate data. There is a new heart rate section inside the app and this section has a red icon at the bottom right of the screen. Taping on it will start monitoring the heartbeat. The screen will instruct you to block the camera and flash. The phone will start measuring your heart rate as soon as you do this. Users need to block the camera and flash until the screen is detected and completed.

Once the measurement is complete, the Mi Health app asks users’ status just before the measurement, i.e. ‘Are they in normal condition, resting or exercising?’ After selecting the correct option and pressing the ‘View Report’ button, a test report will appear on the screen, including heart rate and graphic. This refers to whether the heartbeat is normal, slow or fast.
