Reliance Jio’s GeoTV is now also on the desktop


Reliance Jio has quietly launched a web version of its JioTV live streaming service. Before JioTV, JioCinema was Jio’s second service with a web version. The new feature allows users to now watch all live TV shows through a web browser.

Click on these links to access the web version of Jio TV and Jio Movies. The web versions of both of these are similar to the apps and are available for Android and iOS. Live TV website Information Telecom Talk was the first. Geo TV has given the user all the TV channel categories including entertainment, movies, news and sports. In addition, there is the option to filter the HD channel over the regular Standard Definition (SD) part. The web version of Jio TV has the option to select your preferred regional language channels. The catch-up feature is also available so that users can view content from the last seven days.

For JioTV or Geosinema on the web you need to login to their website. Which will require a valid user ID and password. Unlike the app version, you don’t have to have a live mobile network to access the web version. The company is expected to take this step so that users can watch their favorite channel even when connected to Wi-Fi or other mobile networks.

The big weight behind releasing the web version of JioTV could be live sports. Services like Hotstar have become very popular for users to watch live sports on the web. On the big screen, Geo subscribers will have the option to watch their favorite channels

At the same time, Geo Movies is for users who want the option to watch their favorite movies on the big screen on their PCs and laptops.

Reliance Jio’s GeoTV and XiaoSima app does not currently support separate apps for Amazon Fire TV Stick, Google Chromecast or Apple TV. In June of the same year, some changes were made to the Geo TV iOS app for a better experience on the iPhone and iPad.
